Toronto stocks tumble 2 pct as financials fall

TORONTO, July 24 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange’s main index sank further on Thursday afternoon in a wide selloff prompted by losses in the financials sector as sour data highlighted concerns over the U.S. economic outlook.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was down 300.09 points, or 2.22 percent, at 13,212.57 shortly before the closing bell. (Reporting by Leah Schnurr; editing by Rob Wilson)
