Toronto stocks falter as materials shares weigh

TORONTO, Aug 1 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange’s main index sagged on Friday, dragged lower as resource shares were stung by falling metals prices amid worries over dampening demand.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed down 91.79 points, or 0.68 percent, at 13,501.12. (Reporting by Leah Schnurr; Editing by Peter Galloway)
