Toronto stocks drop 3 percent in broad decline

TORONTO, Sept 4 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index dove 3 percent on Thursday afternoon, skidding in a broad market decline as resource shares tumbled on concerns over the prospects for global growth.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was down 400.79 points, or 3.1 percent, at 12,736.93. (Reporting by Leah Schnurr)
