Toronto stocks knocked down resources shares fall

TORONTO, Sept 4 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index skidded sharply for a third session on Thursday, battered in a broad retreat by worries of slowing global growth and the impact that will have on the demand for resources.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed down 312.13 points, or 2.38 percent, at 12,825.59. (Reporting by Leah Schnurr; editing by Rob Wilson)
