Toronto stocks open up on resources, Buffett's bet
TORONTO, Sept 24 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index opened higher on Wednesday on strength in energy and materials stocks and as the $5 billion investment in Goldman Sachs Group Inc (GS.N: Quote) by Warren Buffett helped spirits in battered global markets.
Shortly after the open, the S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 86.73 points, or 0.69 percent, at 12,619.36. (Reporting by Jennifer Kwan; Editing by Peter Galloway)
