Toronto stock index sinks 1.7 pct on oil price drop
TORONTO Oct 1 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index fell 200 points on Wednesday morning as the price of oil tumbled and investors awaited a key vote by the U.S. Senate on the revised $700 billion bailout plan for the financial industry.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was down 201.63 points, or 1.72 percent, at 11,551.27. (Reporting by Jennifer Kwan; Editing by Peter Galloway)
