Toronto stock index sinks 2.6 pct on commodities
TORONTO Oct 2 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index sank 300 points shortly after the open on Thursday as commodity shares fell with lower oil and gold prices, and Merrill Lynch chopped its ratings on fertilizer stocks.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was down 300.33 points, or 2.56 percent, at 11,414.18. (Reporting by Jennifer Kwan; Editing by Peter Galloway)
