Toronto stocks sink after U.S. bailout passes

TORONTO, Oct 3 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index slumped into negative territory late on Friday as energy shares moved lower despite the passage of a multibillion-dollar Wall Street bailout package by U.S. lawmakers.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE fell 20.53 points, or 0.19 percent, to 10,880.01. Earlier, it had soared more than 400 points ahead of the U.S. bailout vote. (Reporting by Wojtek Dabrowski; editing by Peter Galloway)
