TORONTO Oct 9 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index turned negative in midmorning dealings on Thursday as weakness in the financial sector, due to persistent worries over the global credit crunch, helped to erase an early rally.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE fell 29.06 points, or 0.29 percent, to 10,027.25. (Reporting by Ka Yan Ng; Editing by Peter Galloway)
