Toronto stock index gyrates wildly, up 100 points
TORONTO Oct 16 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE reversed course and rose more than 100 points in early erratic dealings on Thursday as bargain hunters edged back into the market despite weakening commodity prices.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE rose 105.94 points, or 1.14 percent, to 9,429.79. ($1=$1.19 Canadian) (Reporting by Ka Yan Ng; Editing by Peter Galloway)
