CANADA STOCKS-Toronto index down 4.3 pct on oil retreat

TORONTO, Oct 27 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index fell more than 4 percent on Monday afternoon as energy issues dropped along with weaker crude prices, which have been pressured by concerns that a faltering global economy would weaken demand.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was down 400.56 points, or 4.31 percent, at 8,893.53. (Reporting by Jennifer Kwan; editing by Rob Wilson)
