CANADA STOCKS-Commodity worries drive market down
TORONTO Oct 27 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index tumbled to close below the 9,000 level on Monday for the first time since December 2004 as commodity shares slid on worries that underlying prices may drop further due to the faltering global economy.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed down 716.61 points, or 7.71 percent, at 8,577.48. (Reporting by Jennifer Kwan; Editing by Peter Galloway)
