CANADA STOCKS-Firmer commodities help boost TSX

TORONTO, Nov 7 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index closed higher on Friday on strength in commodity stocks as oil and gold prices firmed and as investors took a break from two days of heavy selling.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 55.46 points, or 0.58 percent, at 9,610.87. (Reporting by Jennifer Kwan; Editing by Peter Galloway)
