TORONTO, Nov 26 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index extended gains on Wednesday afternoon as strength in commodities outweighed the steep decline of BCE (BCE.TO), whose stock tumbled after the telecom giant said its leveraged buyout deal was in doubt.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE gained 101.17 points, or 1.2 percent, to 8,544.03. Nine of the index's 10 main groups were higher except for the telecoms group, which includes BCE. (Reporting by Ka Yan Ng; editing by Rob Wilson)
