TORONTO, Dec 11 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index opened lower on Thursday, pulled down by the collapse of the leveraged buyout of BCE Inc(BCE.TO) and by uncertainty over the fate of the bailout of the U.S. auto industry.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was down 17.67 points, or 0.2 percent, at 8,616.33. (Reporting by Jennifer Kwan; editing by Peter Galloway)
