CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens down as gold-mining shares dip
TORONTO Jan 5 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index opened slightly lower on Monday, led down by a slide in gold-mining shares on a near 3 percent skid in gold prices.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was down 11.17 points, or 0.12 percent, at 9,222.94 at the open. Five of the index's 10 main groups were lower. (Reporting by Frank Pingue; editing by Peter Galloway)
