TORONTO, Jan 13 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index closed sharply higher on Tuesday as investors raced back into equities after a string of selloffs had left the TSX at its lowest level in two weeks.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 164.12 points, or 1.87 percent, at 8,957.45. All 10 of the TSX's sectors ended higher. (Reporting by Frank Pingue; editing by Peter Galloway)
