TORONTO, Jan 27 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index rose more than 100 points by midday on Tuesday in a broad rally led by strength in financial issues, which overcame the drag from heavily weighted commodities groups.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE rose 100.06 points, or 1.2 percent, to 8,756.57. Eight of the index's 10 main groups advanced. (Reporting by Ka Yan Ng; editing by Rob Wilson)
