CANADA STOCKS-TSX finishes higher, financials lead way

TORONTO, Jan 27 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock index finished more than 1 percent higher on Tuesday in a broad rally led by strength in financial issues, which overcame the drag from heavily weighted commodities groups.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 97.90 points, or 1.13 percent, at 8,754.41. Eight of the index’s 10 main groups advanced. (Reporting by Ka Yan Ng; editing by Rob Wilson)
