TORONTO, Feb 4 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock index rose for a second consecutive day on Wednesday as resource stocks were boosted by a rise in underlying commodity prices, even as weakness in financials kept the gains in check.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 52.52 points, or 0.61 percent, at 8,681.15, with seven of the 10 main groups higher. (Reporting by Jennifer Kwan; Editing by Jeffrey Hodgson)
