CANADA STOCKS-TSX rises 2 percent on materials, banks
TORONTO Feb 6 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index rose 2 percent on Friday as the materials sector gained on higher base metals prices and financials rose as dismal U.S. jobs data fueled bets for a U.S. stimulus package.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE rose 180.50 points, or 2 percent, to 9,041.42, crossing the psychologically important 9,000 level for the first time since Jan. 16. (Reporting by Jennifer Kwan; Editing by Jeffrey Hodgson)
