CANADA STOCKS-Resource strength extends TSX gains

TORONTO, Feb 11 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock market index extended gains on Wednesday morning, following a 2.5 percent drop in the previous session, as resource issues were boosted by firmness in underlying commodity prices.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE rose 91.70 points, 1.04 percent, to 8,909.59, with nine of its 10 main groups higher. (Reporting by Jennifer Kwan; editing by Peter Galloway)
