CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens sharply up, lifted by commodities

TORONTO, March 4 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index opened sharply higher on Wednesday, after touching a five-year low in the previous session, as resource issues got a lift from commodity prices.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 211.03 points, or 2.77 percent, at 7,842.65. (Reporting by Jennifer Kwan; Editing by Peter Galloway)
