CANADA STOCKS-TSX up 2 percent as bank shares rally
TORONTO, March 16 (Reuters) - Toronto's key stock index was up more than 2 percent late on Monday morning, led up by shares of Canadian banks after Britain's Barclays Bank (BARC.L: Quote) said it had a strong start to the year.
At 11:21 a.m. (1521 GMT), the S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 169.36 points, or 2.04 percent, at 8,472.75. All 10 sectors were higher, led by a 4.98 percent surge in the financial index. (Reporting by Frank Pingue; Editing by Peter Galloway)
