TORONTO, March 18 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index rallied late and held on to end higher on Wednesday as a move by the U.S. Federal Reserve to help the battered U.S. economy offset the drag from lower energy shares.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 76.08 points, or 0.89 percent, at 8,635.68. It was the index's seventh straight session of gains. (Reporting by Frank Pingue; Editing by Peter Galloway)
