CANADA STOCKS-TSX advances more than 2 pct, resources shine
TORONTO, April 1 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index rose more than 2 percent on Wednesday afternoon in a broad advance led by materials issues that rose on higher gold prices.
Strength in the two other most heavily weighted sectors, energy and financials, helped the S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE jump 186.36 points, or 2.14 percent, to 8,906.75. Nine of its 10 main groups were higher. (Reporting by Ka Yan Ng; editing by Rob Wilson)
