CANADA STOCKS-TSX notches second straight gain as banks rally

TORONTO, April 1 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock index rose for the second straight session on Wednesday, helped in large part by a banks rally as U.S. data spurred optimism for a boost in financial activity.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 203.43 points, or 2.33 percent, at 8,923.82. (Reporting by Frank Pingue; editing by Rob Wilson)
