TORONTO, April 17 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index opened slightly higher on Friday as rise in the price of oil sparked a rally in the energy sector.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE rose 10.42 points, or 0.11 percent, to 9,353.79 at the open. Eight of the TSX's 10 sectors were higher, led by a 0.98 percent gain in the energy group. (Reporting by Frank Pingue; editing by Peter Galloway)
