CANADA STOCKS-Higher oil prices boost Toronto index

TORONTO, May 1 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock index rose 2 percent on Friday afternoon as energy issues were boosted by higher oil prices.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE rose 186.22 points, or 2.0 percent, to 9,511.05. (Reporting by Jennifer Kwan; editing by Peter Galloway)
