CANADA STOCKS-TSX surges on US consumer confidence, BMO
TORONTO May 26 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index rose sharply on Tuesday, gaining for the third straight session, as its the financials sector soared on better-than-expected Bank of Montreal (BMO.TO: Quote) results and rosy U.S. consumer confidence data.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 211.31 points, or 2.1 percent, at 10,280.81. (Reporting by Jennifer Kwan; editing by Peter Galloway)
