CANADA STOCKS-TSX ticks higher after big sell-off

TORONTO, June 23 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index opened higher on Tuesday following a more than 4 percent slide in the previous session, as commodity prices stabilized and supported the resource-heavy market.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 33.30 points, or 0.34 percent, at 9,867.48 at the open. (Reporting by Jennifer Kwan; Editing by Jeffrey Hodgson)
