CANADA STOCKS-TSX follows oil price to modest gain at open
TORONTO, July 7 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index opened higher on Tuesday as firmer oil prices buoyed energy shares, but the index's gain was crimped by concerns over the global economy and about upcoming U.S. corporate earnings.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE rose 9.52 points to 10,036.95 at the open. Five of the TSX's 10 sectors were up, led by a 0.87 gain in the energy group. (Reporting by Frank Pingue; editing by Peter Galloway)
