CANADA STOCKS-TSX surges at open in commodities rally
TORONTO, July 15 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index rose at the open on Wednesday as firmer prices for oil and other commodities helped propel the resource-heavy index to its highest level in just over a week.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE rose 126.59 points, or 1.27 percent, to 10,112.74 at the open, its highest level since July 6. All of the TSX's 10 subindexes were higher, led by a 2.7 percent rally in the mining-laden materials group. (Reporting by Frank Pingue; editing by Peter Galloway)
