TORONTO, July 16 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index was up more than 1 percent on Thursday afternoon as firmer oil and gold prices lifted the heavyweight resource sectors.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 104.03 points, or 1.02 percent, at 10,319.49. Eight of the TSX's 10 main groups were higher, led by a 1.4 percent rise in materials and a 0.9 percent gain in energy. (Reporting by Ka Yan Ng; editing by Rob Wilson)
