TORONTO, July 20 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index rose 1.56 percent on Monday for its sixth straight winning session as optimism that the worst of the global recession has past helped fuel a broad rally, with energy and commodity stocks leading the way.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 162.23 points at 10,531.65. Nine of the TSX's 10 main groups were higher, with energy and materials up 2.24 percent and 2.23 percent respectively. (Reporting by John McCrank; editing by Peter Galloway)
