TORONTO, Aug 6 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock index was little changed at the opening bell on Thursday as investors digested a mountain of Canadian corporate results.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE fell 12.75 points, or 0.12 percent, to 11,034.18 at the open.
Eight of the index’s 10 main groups were higher, but there was substantial pressure from the hefty financial group, down 0.76 percent, after Manulife Financial (MFC.TO) cut its dividend by 50 percent in a bid to preserve capital. [ID:nN06263952]
Manulife, the top heavyweight decliner, fell 4.8 percent to C$24.99.
