CANADA STOCKS-TSX extends commodity-fueled gains

TORONTO, Aug 18 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock index rose 1 percent in a broad advance late Tuesday morning as rekindled risk appetite by way of climbing commodity prices helped lift the resource-heavy index after a big loss the previous day.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 105.22 points at 10,636.81. Nine of its 10 main groups were higher, led by a 1.6 percent gain in materials and a 1.2 percent rise in energy issues. (Reporting by Ka Yan Ng; editing by Rob Wilson)
