CANADA STOCKS-TSX follows EnCana to higher close

 TORONTO, Sept 11 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock index closed higher on Friday after touching its highest level in nearly a year, driven up by EnCana Corp (ECA.TO) on news of its plan to split the company.
 The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 89.89 points, or 0.81 percent, at 11,244.89.  (Reporting by Frank Pingue; editing by Peter Galloway)
