TORONTO, Sept 16 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index closed at its highest level since mid-October on Wednesday, lifted by strength in the energy and materials sectors.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE rose 71.47 points, or 0.62 percent, to unofficially close at 11,567.30.
Seven of the TSX's 10 main groups advanced, led by a 1 percent gain by energy issues and an 0.8 percent climb in materials.
