CANADA STOCKS-TSX follows gold-miners to higher open
TORONTO, Sept 24 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index opened higher on Thursday as a rise in gold prices helped to boost gold-mining shares, even as a slide in weighty energy shares capped the overall gain.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 26.71 points, or 0.23 percent, at 11,544.25 at the open. (Reporting by Frank Pingue; Editing by Jeffrey Hodgson)
