CANADA STOCKS-TSX falls at the open as gold, RIM weigh

TORONTO, Sept 25 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index sank at the open on Friday as weak gold prices pressured the weighty materials sector and Research in Motion RIM.TO shares dropped after providing a disappointing outlook.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE sank 44.94 points, or 0.4 percent, to 11,240.82, with the information technology group, which includes Research In Motion, leading the drop. (Reporting by Jennifer Kwan; Editing by Jeffrey Hodgson)
