CANADA STOCKS-TSX edges higher on firm gold prices

TORONTO, Sept 29 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index ticked higher at the open on Tuesday, extending gains from the previous session as mining shares rose on firm gold prices.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE rose 15.73 points, or 0.14 percent, to 11,354.45 at the open. (Reporting by Jennifer Kwan; editing by Peter Galloway)
