TORONTO, Oct 5 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index rose 1 percent on Monday morning as investors returned to equities following a two-week slide.
At 11:00 a.m. (1500 GMT), the S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 111.27 points, or 1.02 percent, at 11,069.60. Banking shares were up 1.9 percent, while the oil and gas group rose 1 percent. (Reporting by Frank Pingue; editing by Peter Galloway)
