CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens lower as gold-miners trip on prices

 TORONTO, Oct 9 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index got
off to a lower start on Friday as Barrick Gold Corp (ABX.TO: Quote)
and other gold miners retreated as bullion prices weakened from
the record high reached earlier this week.
 The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE fell 55.92 points, or
0.49 percent, to 11,428.59 at the open.
