CANADA STOCKS-TSX follows energy players to higher open
TORONTO, Oct 14 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index shot higher at the open on Wednesday as lofty commodity prices lifted Suncor Energy (SU.TO: Quote) and other oil and gas players, while upbeat U.S. corporate earnings helped boost sentiment.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE rose 110.94 points, or 0.97 percent, to 11,524.48 at the open. (Reporting by Frank Pingue; editing by Peter Galloway)
