CANADA STOCKS-TSX follows energy players to higher open
TORONTO, Oct 14 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index shot higher at the open on Wednesday as lofty commodity prices lifted Suncor Energy SU.TO and other oil and gas players, while upbeat U.S. corporate earnings helped boost sentiment.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE rose 110.94 points, or 0.97 percent, to 11,524.48 at the open. (Reporting by Frank Pingue; editing by Peter Galloway)
