CANADA STOCKS-TSX drops as gold miners and financials fall
TORONTO, Oct 21 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index slid hard late in the day on Wednesday as profit-taking hit gold-mining shares despite higher gold prices and bank and insurance shares also weakened.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed 100.52 points, or 0.87 percent, lower at 11,437.60. (Reporting by Ka Yan Ng; editing by Peter Galloway)
