CANADA STOCKS-TSX turns higher after soft start
TORONTO, Oct 22 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index crept into higher territory shortly after the open on Thursday as a rebound in weighty banks and insurers helped offset the drag weaker oil prices had on energy shares.
At 9:39 a.m. (1339 GMT), the S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 7.69 points, or 0.07 percent, at 11,449.71. (Reporting by Frank Pingue; editing by Peter Galloway)
