CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens up on stronger commodity prices

 TORONTO, Dec 16 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index
opened higher on Wednesday as a softer U.S. dollar boosted
commodity prices, lifting shares of Barrick Gold (ABX.TO: Quote) and
other mining and energy companies on the resource-heavy index.
 The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 63.36 points,
or 0.55 percent, at 11,604.38
