CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens up as metal prices rise
TORONTO, Dec 24 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index opened higher on Thursday as stronger metals and gold prices boosted Barrick Gold ABX.TO and other mining companies, with the broader materials sector leading the gains.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 13.26 points, or 0.1 percent, at 11,671.96. ($1=$1.05 Canadian) (Reporting by Irene Kuan; editing by Leslie Adler)
