CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens up as gold price rise lifts miners
TORONTO (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index opened higher on Wednesday, helped by a 1.1 percent rise in its materials sector as a stronger bullion price boosted shares of gold miners.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE rose 14.91 points, or 0.13 percent, to 11,902.99 at the start of trading. (Reporting by Claire Sibonney and Jeffrey Hodgson; editing by Peter Galloway)
